Sheriff’s “COPS” Team Gets Results

The COPS (Community Oriented Problem Solving) team has wrapped up its successful operation targeting the Fairview area. An initial meeting held in June with community members identified specific concerns and issues. The team then hit the ground running with the month-long focus on closing cases, getting leads, etc. Police actions occurring as a result from June 18–July 13 were:

Attempted 22
Criminal Summons 1
Checking Stations: 13
Citations 27
Arrests 3
Warnings 5
Seatbelt/Registration Violations 5

Cases:
Cleared by Arrest 14
Felony Arrests 21
Misdemeanor Arrests 3
Felony Warrants Issued 45
Property Recovered: $26,076

Sheriff Duncan and the team held a follow up meeting at the Fairview Community Center on July 26 to present results and continue discussion.
