We are always looking for regular columnists for the Crier! If you’re interested, here’s what you need to know.
Experience. You do not need any writing experience. We can work with you to come up with a concept, topics, and writing tips. You really need to want to write, though!
Column length. If you include an image (and you should!), word count is 700 words. Without an image, word count is 900 words.
Frequency. Most columnists write every month, but you can set your own schedule (as long as it is regular).
Deadline. All columns are due on the 10th of every month. You will receive two reminder emails.
Tone/Content. We like to keep things positive in the Crier. We also try to keep political opinions out of the paper.
Author bio & headshot. We like to run a thumbnail photo and short bio of all our columnists.
No guarantee of publishing. We try to publish every column every month, but we cannot guarantee it. We may need to run a special feature or ad instead. Columns that are not time-specific can be published the following month. We will let you know if we need to hold a column.
