A Rainbow in July

It takes both the sun and the rain to make a beautiful rainbow.

This is a short story and it’s true. It is 9:30 pm on the eve of printing the August issue of the Town Crier. I have put in a very long day (14 straight hours) to finish the paper in time to prep the files and upload them to the printer’s server. I feel pretty good about this issue except for one spot. This spot actually. I had nothing to fill it with. I searched and searched and the best I came up with was a generic article on “Green Travel.” Something about being environmentally responsible when on vacation. Oh well, it filled the hole but not in a way I was proud of. Just as I was about to turn the computer off, my husband Chris called me to come outside. The photos below are what he wanted to show me. Of course I knew what I was being called to do… to share this remarkable double rainbow with each of you. As the sky shifted hue, the rainbows did, too. Much like we must do to find the sunshine after the rain. Tomorrow will be a good day. Nighty-night. –Sandie Rhodes, Editor
