Welcome to the Fairview Town Crier’s e-newsletter!

The Crier started as your hometown, nonprofit paper in 1997—that’s almost 30 years. Some things have stayed the same—especially our narrow focus on Fairview, Gerton and parts of Reynolds and Fletcher. But many other things have changed, including the world of printed publications. Many have stopped production and others have gone totally online.

We decided it was finally time to get with the times and start an e-newsletter. Now, don’t panic: We’re not replacing the paper with an email edition. No way! Clark and Ralph, the editors, are an ink-stained duo, proud to be part of a printed paper that has survived and thrived. And we all know that Fairview just wouldn’t be the same without the Crier arriving in mailboxes each month.

Our goal is to complement the print edition by including things that can’t appear on paper—such as videos of Fairview folks, places or events that may have missed our print deadline, and corrections or updates to past stories.

So, welcome and stay tuned for more!

ps: We’re just getting started here. Expect more stories and design improvements as we continue.

(Full disclosure: Ralph and Clark, the editors of the Crier, will be friends with anyone who gives them ice cream. Jack’s was very good, though.)
